Chapel Hill, NC (July 12, 2010) - Divi Resorts announced it has begun a renovation of Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort in Aruba that includes a complete makeover of the 162 original resort units, and the property's centerpiece restaurant, Seabreeze. The $4 million dollar project will be conducted in two phases, with two of the resort's four buildings remodeled by November. The remaining two buildings will undergo renovation starting in May, 2011 for completion by the end of the year. Upgrades to the units include new paint, tile, furnishings and kitchen appliances, and an upgraded bathroom with deluxe shower. The all suite Divi Village consists of studios, one and two bedroom suites; all with fully equipped kitchens, air conditioning, flat-screen televisions and private balconies or patios.
Seabreeze restaurant, which offers quiet poolside dining, is expanding its kitchen in order to increase its service capacity and menu offering. The renovated restaurant remains open during construction and will be complete by October.
The renovation project is the final phase of a $50+ million development plan for the resort. Divi Village completed construction of luxury golf view studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom villas in 2009; bringing the total room count at the resort to 348 units. Also recently completed in 2010 are the Residences at Divi Aruba - Divi's first full ownership condominium product. The 45 residences, some as large as 1860 square feet, are located within the grounds of the Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort and surrounded by the emerald greens of the Links at Divi Aruba golf course. The Residences offer the amenities of the Divi resort experience - freshwater swimming pools, clubhouse, multiple restaurants and beautifully landscaped grounds.
