KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

We want to make your stay as easy and stress-free as possible. As each of our islands are open and welcoming visitors, it is important to be fully informed of all entry requirements prior to traveling. Below, you'll find helpful information to assist you in preparing for your vacation on Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, St. Croix, and St. Maarten.

TRAVELING TO ARUBA

For the latest information on traveling to Aruba, please visit the island's official guide to safe and happy travel at https://www.aruba.com/us/traveler-health-requirements.

Embarkation/Disembarkation (ED) card (It's free!)
The Aruba ED Card (Embarkation/Disembarkation) is mandatory for all individuals entering Aruba, including infants and children. It is necessary to complete and obtain approval for this document. To access the official ED Card page, kindly use the following link. It is important to note that some services may charge a fee to assist you with this process. While the decision to utilize such services is entirely yours, please note that it can quickly be completed independently and free of charge within a few minutes. You can fill in the ED Card as early as seven days before you travel to Aruba. For helpful information on this card, please visit https://www.aruba.com/us/traveler-health-requirements/before-you-travel.

If you are returning to or traveling back through the United States, please make sure to review this website https://www.aruba.com/us/traveler-health-requirements/before-you-return as you will clear immigration and customs in Aruba before boarding your plane. Please arrive at least 3 hours before departing to give yourself enough time to make your return flight.

Starting March 2024, Aruba will be launching the Happy One Pass to help you get through the airport faster. You can learn more about this innovative approach to travel here: https://www.caribjournal.com/2023/12/06/aruba-airport-arrival-happy-one-pass/.

Please stop by our activities desk for assistance in booking tours and activities.

TRAVELING TO BONAIRE

Visitors to Bonaire must now pay a $75 per person visitor entry tax before arrival. The Visitor Entry Tax has replaced what was formerly known as the island's 'room tax' and rental 'car tax' and was previously collected directly through accommodations and providers. To complete the forms and pay the tax, please visit https://tourismtax.bonairegov.com for step-by-step instructions.

If you plan to dive or snorkel in Bonaire’s pristine waters and enjoy the National Marine Park or Washington Slagbaai Park, you must pay a nature fee of $40 per person and get your tags. It is recommended that you purchase these tags before arrival. For more information and to access the official forms, please visit https://stinapa.bonairenaturefee.org.

DR Insider Tip: Don’t miss a trip to spectacular Jibe City! Whether you are an experienced windsurfer or want to learn, it’s one of the best places on Earth to enjoy the sport. Not a windsurfer? Just visit, hang out on the beach, and enjoy mixing with locals at the bar for an authentic Bonaire experience. Check it out: https://youtu.be/bid7MsQehRg?feature=shared.

TRAVELING TO ST. CROIX

When traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands, U.S. Citizens enjoy all the conveniences of domestic travel – including online check-in – making travel to St. Croix easier than ever. As a U.S. territory, travel to St. Croix does not require a passport for U.S. citizens arriving from Puerto Rico, the U.S. mainland, or St. Thomas and St. John. Please ensure you carry a valid picture I.D., such as a U.S. driver's license, as you will need this to get through security from your departing airport.

Entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens are the same as entering the United States from any foreign destination. Upon departure, a passport is required.

To learn more about all the beautiful things you can experience on the island of St. Croix, please visit their official website at https://www.visitusvi.com/st-croix.

DR Insider Tip: If renting a car, please be aware that you will drive on the left side of the road! A “must do” while on St. Croix is to visit Buck Island National Monument to learn more about this incredible gem at https://www.nps.gov/buis/index.htm

TRAVELING TO ST. MAARTEN

St. Maarten is the smallest landmass of two nations: the Dutch side, St. Maarten, and the French side, St. Martin. The good news is that you do not need your passport to cross either side of the island, as the border is always open. Please note that the Dutch side uses U.S. Dollars and the French side Euros when shopping or eating out.

There are over thirty-seven beaches on the island and lots to do, see, and explore. To check out everything there is to offer, visit https://www.vacationstmaarten.com for the Dutch side and https://www.st-martin.org/us/ for the French side.

DR Insider tip: When visiting St. Maarten, you are close to the islands of Saba, St. Barts, and Anguilla, which can all be enjoyed on day trips. Please stop by our concierge desk; they will set you up with the perfect tour and help you plan your entire stay.
